So we've finally seen the pyramids relatively up close and personal. Not that looking at them from Mousad's balcony wasn't already impressive. We went to this part of town that's full of horses and camels and basically rented them for a few hours to ride around in the desert with a spectacular view.
Paul's horse refused do anything he wanted it to. At one point it stopped to eat some garbage. But if you want to see something entertaining, you really have to see Paul ride when the horse is going at full trot, he'd just let himself be bounced violently up and down. Faye and I couldn't stop laughing. I have to say he looks rather dashing in this picture though.
Pyramids, Camel, Desert, Cairo...perfect! It's been awhile since I've seen a camel. The things are TALL! When you get up on one, they get up with their back legs first so you feel like you'll topple over. I witnessed this actually happen to a fellow teacher on a field trip. Scary...but a little funny.
How would you like to four-wheel it here?!

We recently got a chance to see some camels at the ren fest, but they are like the caged lion of camels sadly. however we did get Hamid to stand in front of one for a picture, so that was racialy-delicious. Jessica and I are super jealous of your traveling ways. So much so we may even skip out on Burning Man this year to take a big trip.... I'm hoping we can somehow to do both... but these 2 five dollar bills I left in mood lighting on my dresser are refusing to get it on.
That picture of you on the horse is awesome. You should blow it up on return to the US.
Did you make it to the pyramids yet?
Well OK! finally pics of the pyramids. I really envy you kids. being a bit of a rookie archeologist myself. Paul, the horse pic is awesome. Just like Clint Eastwood. Stick with 4 wheels not legs! Sandi and I just got back from our week long ride at horse camp in MO. I hope you guys can ride with us some day when you return to the states.
I guess you're both mighty pleased with the election outcome. All I can say is at least KS got it right. I'll cling to my religion and guns here on the Funny Farm.
Paul, WRITE SOMETHING!
Love, Dad
