Ahhh! I'm sitting in a cafe and I feel like I've warped into the twlight zone. There's a football match and everyone's gone mad! I keep jumping whenever a goal is scored because the place erupts with shouts and screams and clangs. I'm having severe flashbacks of Brazil during the world cup. We even got out of school early today so everyone could get home for the game...just like in Brazil. So why is U.S. the only country that doesn't give a hoot about soccer? It's so much more interesting than American football.

that is blaspheme. football is fantastic! not our fault we're smarter than the rest of the world :)
For shame KT, for shame! If the rest of the world would just grow a pair they could see the glory that is REAL FOOTBALL! Although I have to admit their football is more aptly named....
Haha. I agree with you... but still find soccer boring. At least I understand it though.
So I can't wait to hear what the Egyptian reaction to Obama's election is!?
Also, I don't know if you ever have time to read the internet there... but JR's blog from Japan is awfully funny too. Although he posts much less frequently than you do.

was it an African Champions Cup that they were playing? cause i heard that a soccer team from Cairo won that cup today and its getting crazy in Cairo due to the celebrations, let me know what u see.
Kumar! Well the game they were playing on this particular day was just one of the many games leading up to the championship game. But it's convenient you wrote just now because yesterday was the big game. It was Al Ahly and Camron. Al Ahly won (Egypt's team)! Yay Egypt! Anyway, it was crazy and traffic was terrible, but not as crazy as I would have expected. People were definetly out watching the game, and people were honking their horns and cheering in the streets, but we didn't get the channel to watch the game. Bummer. Anyway, Hope your keeping your sanity at La Parilla. LAAAATTEERRR...
